OUR STORY

Our journey began in 2021, during a time of major transitions. Both of us were laid off from the live event and entertainment industry but found our way to work. I was called back to Monster Jam and Gabe was offered a role as a Tour Manager. This brought us to the same event in July 2021 at Monster Jam in San Antonio’s Alamodome. Sparks flew, and as we got to know each other, we discovered we were both living in Florida! Our first date at a haunted house later that year in October was unforgettable, and by December, we were officially a couple.

At the time, I was living in Tampa, and Gabe was in St. Petersburg, but it didn’t take long for us to merge lives. In July 2022, we bought a fixer-upper house in St. Pete, where we’re building a life that embraces our unique mix of cultures, traditions, and quirks. In October 2023, Gabe popped the question, and now we’re preparing to say “I do!”

It’s been a rollercoaster journey blending our cultural backgrounds, and we’re realizing that many people don’t know the quirks and hilarity of it all. Follow along as we share this adventure—filled with laughter, discovery, emotions, hard moments, and the beautiful differences that make us “us.”

His Story

Hola! I'm Gabriel, but most people here in the States call me Gabe. I’m a proud Puerto Rican, born and raised in the vibrant heart of San Juan. Growing up with music, culture, and adventure all around, I was always pulled into the electric pulse of my roots and the tight embrace of my very large extended family. Traditions are at the core of life for us—from big holiday fiestas to every special occasion, we go all out with energy and cariño (think “affection on overdrive”)! Raised alongside my three brothers by my Puerto Rican mom and dad, I learned early on that we take our island pride seriously (fun fact: they don’t speak much English!).

In 2015, I moved to Orlando, Florida, to attend the University of Central Florida, where I dove into entertainment management with a passion for special effects and lighting. Life’s been an adventure ever since. I’ve worked in corporate events, special events at SeaWorld, and after getting laid off during COVID, I took a leap into touring with Monster Jam. That’s when fate stepped in, and I met Becca.

I’m a beach lover at heart but also drawn to the mountains; thank you Puerto Rico. Plus growing up around the only U.S. national rainforest!

While I’m now based in Florida, my heart is always close to home, especially with the family house I bought from my grandparents, which we now rent out in Orlando. I also miss my long-haired dachshund, Ollie, who’s happily ruling my parents’ house back on the island, as we currently travel to much for work.

I’m a pretty heartfelt, emotional guy, and I’m loving every moment of blending my island soul with Becca’s Midwest traditions. Although I no longer work for Monster Jam together, Becca and I are creating new memories and prepping for our next big chapter—and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead!

Her Story

Hi, I’m Becca! A Midwest girl through and through, I grew up in the rural backwoods of Illinois, surrounded by cornfields, veggie gardens, and 40 acres of family land that was home to just my father and I. I graduated in a small class of just 25 people, where I learned early on the thrill of backroad adventures—racing four-wheelers and even competing in demolition derbies!

My dad was a force of his own, running everything from traveling carnivals to Italian restaurants and motorsport events, and I was right there by his side. Our local county fair was a big part of life. My father always taught me that, "your community is only what you give into it." I was on the Jr. Fair Board and later voted onto the regular board when I was of age. With these experiences and my small, close-knit family, I grew up with a love for travel and events. In 2015, I made a leap to Tampa, Florida, to study interior design. Balancing bills and college wasn’t easy, so I joined the military reserves in 2017.

After training, I worked in a corporate furniture business until my true calling came through Monster Jam. My roots in fairs and event management helped me realize that live entertainment was where I was meant to be. Since then, I’ve held multiple positions with Monster Jam and am now a tour manager, traveling the world to put on as big as it gets type of monster truck events.

Moving to the city by myself at 18 years of age was a culture shock of its own, but falling in love with a man steeped in Hispanic culture years later was something I never saw coming and even has brought its own shocks of culture to my life. However, Gabe’s love for music, his emotional intelligence, love for family, and his adventurous spirit have made this journey unforgettable thus far—and I couldn’t be happier to have him in my life to explore this crazy journey together.
